Partnerships

The Lincoln Intermediate Unit’s Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Fair aligns with the goals of the National Governor’s Associations’ Agenda for Building STEM: to better prepare regional high school graduates for post-secondary education and work; align STEM curriculum from kindergarten through college (K-16); and build the capacity of STEM educators. It also aligns with high school graduation requirements of the Keystone Exams in Biology and Algebra I and the Pennsylvania Green Jobs Report (Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, 2010) the U.S. Department of Labor (SETDA, 2008) projections for future employment and careers. The two most important learning objectives of the LIU STEM Fair are to increase teacher knowledge of project-based STEM curriculum and to increase students’ access to project-based STEM learning that mirrors college and career ready expectations.
